Commercial Chlorine Water Maintenance Manual

To keep your cold plunge water safe and clean in a commercial environment, see the below protocol we recommend. This is a protocol that we’ve seen work well for most situations. Please keep in mind that water chemistry can be different based on the quality of your water in your area. If you are on well water, please make sure you have the ability to properly reduce calcium levels before filling the tub. Left untreated may cause fouling in the chiller units or damage to the chiller. These water maintenance instructions are meant to be used alongside the regular maintenance protocols for your cold plunge.

Products needed:

  • Dazzle Amaze - Oxidizer, Destroys contaminants that the filter cannot remove.
  • Mineraluxe Alkalinity Plus - Increases pH and Alkalinity.
  • Mineraluxe Chlorating Granules - Controls bacteria and algae growth, Raises free and total chlorine.
  • Mineraluxe Test Strips - Test for total chlorine, total bromine free chlorine, total alkalinity, pHand total hardness.

Initial Uses:


This standard operating procedure should be used after every drain and refill.


Note #1 Let the water circulate for at least 15 minutes between adding each chemical, 60 for more accurate testing.

Note #2 Always adjust for alkalinity first and then pH..

  1. Fill the cold plunge with fresh water
  2. Use the Mineraluxe Test Strips to determine Alkalinity and pH, then follow the instructions on the tables below.
  3. Add 1 cap (12g) of Dazzle Amaze

Daily:


Note: Maintenance frequency may increase based upon usage.

  1. Test water chemistry with the test strips and adjust based on the following tables.
  2. A water line may naturally accumulate over time. Wipe the water line with a sponge as needed.
  3. Clean any hair and debris off of the drainer strainers.
