Infrared Pro — Can I Bring My Phone or Electronics Into the Sauna?

It's a fair question — you want your music, a show, or just the time in front of you. But taking a phone or tablet inside the hot cabin isn't a good idea, and it's easy to get everything you want without risking your device.

Why electronics shouldn't go inside

• Battery damage. The lithium-ion batteries in phones and tablets degrade quickly under sustained heat. Prolonged exposure well below sauna temperatures can permanently cut battery capacity, and higher heat can cause swelling. A sauna runs far past what these batteries are rated for.
• Overheating shutdowns. Most phones throttle or shut off entirely once they sense they're too hot — so your device will likely go unresponsive within minutes inside the cabin anyway.
• Screen damage. Prolonged heat can leave screens with permanent discolouration, dead pixels, or separated display layers.
• Warranty. Heat damage generally isn't covered by phone manufacturers' warranties, so a session inside can turn a device into an out-of-pocket replacement.

The easy alternative

Keep the phone outside the cabin, somewhere cool where you can still see it through the glass. Pair it to your Infrared Pro over Bluetooth before you go in, start your playlist or podcast, set it down outside, and step in — the audio plays through the sauna's speakers and you never have to touch it mid-session.
