Infrared Pro — Door Magnets Aren't Making Contact

If the glass door on your Infrared Pro won't stay shut, or the magnetic strips meet unevenly, the cause is almost always a strip that hasn't fully seated or a magnet that's facing the wrong way. Both are quick to check and fix at home.

Before you start: photograph or film each step. If a part turns out to need replacing, our team can use those images to process your warranty faster.

1. Seat the magnetic strips fully

The magnetic strips are made to grip tightly so they hold up to repeated heat cycles, which means they need a firm, deliberate push to sit correctly. A strip that looks flush can still be sitting proud of the glass.

1. Look along each strip from the side and confirm the glass edge is seated all the way into the channel, end to end.
2. Starting at the bottom, press firmly along the whole length and work upward. When it's right, the strip feels solid with no gap between it and the glass.

Tip: seating from the bottom up helps the strip sit straight.

2. Check that the magnets attract, not repel

The magnets on the door and the magnets on the fixed glass have to face opposite ways to pull together. If one is flipped, they'll push apart or barely touch.

1. Bring the door close to the frame and feel whether the magnets pull toward each other or resist.
2. If they resist, a strip is oriented backward. Compare it against your assembly manual and reseat it the correct way around.
