HEATER SIZING CALCULATOR

WHAT SIZE SAUNA HEATER DO I NEED?

Enter your sauna's dimensions and cold surfaces to get the right heater power (kW). Estimates only; always confirm against the manufacturer's manual and a licensed electrician.

1

Your Sauna Space

The starting point for sizing is the room's volume. Enter the interior dimensions, or switch to enter the total volume directly if you already know it.

2

Cold Surfaces

Glass and exposed stone/concrete stay cold and pull heat from the room, so the heater must work harder. Enter the total area of each (skip if none). Do not include the floor.

ft²
Not sure? A standard glass sauna door is roughly 12–15 ft² (1.1–1.4 m²).
3

Setting & Fuel

Uninsulated rooms — most outdoor and barrel saunas — lose heat faster and need more power. Choose a fuel type to filter recommendations, or leave it on Any.

Room Volume
Adjusted Volume
Size your heater on the room's adjusted volume — the real volume plus an allowance for cold glass and stone. We add roughly 1.2 m³ per m² of glass and 1.5 m³ per m² of exposed masonry, and add load for uninsulated rooms, then match that to a standard heater output.
